SEX GANGS AND BEING A MUSLIM PAKISTANI
Telford ‘Pakistani,’ ‘Youth,’ and ‘Muslim’ sex gangs have raised questions on what is it about ‘Muslim Asians’ of Pakistani & Bangla Deshi origins that makes them get involved in these type of gangs. The problem in Telford is yet another echo of similar gangs in other cities in the UK where the common thread is ‘Pakistani, Youth and Muslim.’ So is there anything that has culpability on – or alternately that expedites - being Pakistani youth of a Muslim background?
The culpability argument is that Pakistani youth are preying on ‘White girls’ because they see ‘White Women’ as commodities and therefore it is a racist attitude that needs to be challenged within the Pakistiani community. In addition being Muslim is another contributory factor as it is acceptable in Islam for young girls to be married and so for these gangs there is no religious or moral conscience regarding the age of their victims.
The issue around the existence of these gangs is not of paedophilia as that is a crime defined separately from what these gangs do. These gangs operate at a different level than the paedophilic gangs that have a pronounced presence of White males in the ‘White community.’ The issue with these gangs is that they are 100% Pakistani Muslim while Pakistanis Muslims constitute only 2% of the British population. An additional fact is that 100% of their victims are While girls who have a background of being in care, from broken-down families, becoming sexually active at a very young age or in to some sort of addiction that requires them to have cash.
The bait for these girls is cash but it cannot be defined as prostitution because of the age of these girls. And these gangs also recruit their victims through the internet which makes all children vulnerable and therefore linked to a wider issue of E Safety and sexual exploitation of children. To separate out the issues from these wider risks is to turn a blind eye to the wider network of the problem of sexual exploitation.
For these gangs the sex market is a lucrative business and on the ‘ground’ the recruiters and the rings operate similarly to the drugs cartels, terrorism and human trafficking. Once again Pakistani youth of Muslim origin are heavily involved in these and it therefore raises, once again, the issues behind what is it that makes this particular segment of the population to dominate these types of crime communities on the ground.
Like in any crime network the age or ethnic background of the victims is not an issue for the agencies that operate within the network. These agencies of crime operate where there is a chance and a market. Today in Myanmar (Burma) the Muslim victims of the Buddhist pogrom has attracted sex agencies from Bangla Deshi who even abduct Muslims girls and coerce them in to the sex market. It is not ‘White Europeans girls’ who are the victims but ‘Coloured Muslims girls’ escaping being raped and then burnt alive by ‘Buddhist’ mobs led by priests. But has Buddhism being implicated by any social or media agencies? For the agents of crime the religion or ethnic group of their victims is the last thing that matters as long as they can exploit a chance and have a market for their crimes.
Even ‘drug cartels’ recruit young and this is not because of any religious affiliation by drug mafias. They see a chance and a market. Where they don’t see a chance they create the circumstance to exploit vulnerable people. Study of crime psychology and their victims is full of theories on how, what and where these crime gangs operate and how they become successful. Religious affiliation or a moral conscience is the last thing in the minds of these gangs.
Indeed there are some distinctive 'crime ghettos' that exist in the crime world. In the church community the ghetto is identified in the guise of priests whereas in the Pakistani Muslim community it may have a guise of ‘disaffected youth’ who have a range of domestic, educational and economic failures. The fact that Afghanistan is a biggest world producer of drugs explains how Pakistani connection works in the drug world. But Afghanistan was drug free before the USA entered the scene. So should be not point fingers that ‘Evangelical White America?’
For Pakistani drug gangs the most lucrative market is the West and so drug pushers on the ground in Western capitals are likely to be of Pakistani origin. They have the network and the inner links that track back to their pay masters. They also have identified the vulnerable communities on the ground because they live and operate in the deprived areas. Being Pakistani or young or Muslim has no bearing these drug pushers. So if these types of ‘crime ghettos’ operate in the world of drug pushers without any affiliation to religion or ethnicity or age than how is it that sex gangs are quickly isolated and identified as a problems of racial attitude or religious problems specific to Pakistani Youth of Muslim background?
"A point of public interest is the supposed Islamic link. Firstly Islam would put them to death for what they do. It is in non-Muslim societies where sex crime still carry a light prison sentence which may be a factor in the increase of these types of crimes. Secondly the idea that Prophet Muhammad married a girl in puberty (age 9 or 11) is linked to these crimes is only a suggestion without substantiation because Muhammad did not consummate the marriage until she complained that he had not ‘fulfilled her right as a wife?’ This led to that 6th century Islamic society reforming itself and not allowing their child brides being violated by husbands as it was seen as the right of the wife to choose when she wanted the marriage to be consummated. In addition the Quran has said that if the marriage is not consummated then she can ask for a divorce that takes immediate effect. The Quran therefore is giving the bride the convenience of an easy divorce if she does not agree to the consummation. Remember we are talking about the 6th century and so what Muhammad did at that time in giving the right to decide whether the marriage is to be consummated to the wife is a milestone.
The ‘protective’ factor for brides has never existed in non-Muslim societies throughout history where child brides were violated with no protection or right to decide when or if the marriage could be consummated.
And thirdly, the version that says the Muhammad married a girl in puberty is only one version. These versions were written 200 years after Muhammad. Other versions say that his bride was over 20 years old because the same historical records say that the bride had narrated that she married Muhammad 9 years after her father joined Muhammad which was 13 years prior to her marriage to Muhammad. It may be that historians only counted the first 9 years that she mentioned in her narration because it was in these 9 years when she was a Muslim. SO they have only counted the age when she practised the faith.
